Last weekend our good friends Chris and Caroline had their engagement party in Lubbock. They are both from Hobbs, but Chris's mom now lives in Lubbock. Jared, Justin and I got in the car Friday afternoon and began the trek west! There were many suggestions about taking the "north route" through Wichita Falls, but I wasn't having that for only one reason. Abilene. Jared said if we went on Friday we could eat a QUICK (meaning no Lytle) dinner there. Last time we drove through we went to Joe Allan's. This time was Betty Roses! I love both equally, but J preferred Joe Allan's. IT was wonderful, Banana Pudding in all. I drove them around the campus and it has changed! There are about 3 or 4 NEW buildings! J and Justin were AMAZED at the size!!! There were seriously in shock. They both went to A&M and then OU so it was a little different.... We kept going to Lubbock and Chris's Moms amazing house. Its seriously like what you see on Cribs. The flat screen in the master bedroom is a painting and when you turn the TV on it rolls up. It has a step down wine cellar, 5 Bedrooms, 6 bathrooms a pool etc. The builder used it as his custom "see what I can do" home so it is immaculate! Saturday the boys and I were told to look at some "wonderful baby store" but didn't find anything so we went to Good ole South Plains Mall. Justin bought out the mall and Jared did a good job shopping, but didn't find much. Also they were having some America's Next Top Model Thing by the fountain. We stopped by Taco Villa and drove by my old house but after I kept saying "it sure looks different" realized I lived next door to the one we were parked at! haha.
The party was outside complete with open bar (grey goose, crown, wine,beer, pina colada machine) and I had bottomless Ozarka. whoo hoo. Also had a steel drum band, fresh fish in the "pond" and some fabulous food! I was very impressed with myself. Even thought i took a nap, I stayed up till 2am! I did sleep the ENTIRE way home though.
It was a great trip and made me miss West Texas weather! I had to put on a long sleeved shirt at night!
