I have not been good about blogging. #1 excuse is i LOVE pictures and I HATE myself in them at the moment so not much to post... I did get some cute tops at Gap Maternity. I LOVE Gap un pregnant and their clothes are some of the only reasonable priced ones! There are alot of cute stuff at the boutiques, but unless Gayle is buying its not an option. So the retail therapy is not helping or really an option. Suck buying clothes as a "necessity to cover things" rather than a hobby...
Besides that i am super stressed. Got so much to do in the next 2 months! and I am PANICKED baby will come early and I wont have stuff done!
We have signed up for our "classes"
1. Childbirth Preparation
-I was completely satisfied not knowing what horrible things were ahead of me, but apparently its a bad idea to go blind...
- 3 nights of 4 hour classes... seriously! what all are they telling me!
2. Carseat Class
-got out of that one with Jared PROMISING to take my car and car seat tot he fire station to get it checked
- it was a 6 hour Saturday class. People, its putting in a car seat... 6 hours????
3. Breast Feeding
-its a 3 night 4 hour class as well. I know I need this one. MY friend Christy gave me her pump and it was weird looking and baffling. I felt like Baby Mamma.
4. Child Care and CPR
-I did take Child CPR with Annalee at ACU but we failed the test and they felt bad for us and gave us our certificate anyway. Glad no one at Sunshine school choked!
-Child care is my biggest fear! How do you bathe, change, hold, stop crying etc. I know none of this. Jared thinks I "play dumb" but seriously I never babysat. I don't know "baby" stuff. I know the older ones at least 2 yr, and they can tel you whats wrong and play back.
In addition to classes, we have more baby supplies to buy, but have a crib, stroller, car seat, changing table, gilder, lots of clothes and one box of diapers. Jared bought the diapers last week. I wish he got paternity leave... He knows how to do this better.
Plus my UNT class isn't going so hot. I wrote down a deadline wrong and missed a EASY 100 word paper. The professor wasn't very nice about helping me. I didn't give her my list of excuses, very pregnant, had a stomach virus and was in bed or bathroom the entire 24 hours surrounding the due date. Plus the ugly part of an online class is you don't have friends to remind you and the prof. doesn't know I am a nice person and to talk nice to me. But I got it turned in for a late penalty. NOW I have 10,000 books left to read and a kids story time and a high school book talk to do. And the first paper I did, I forgot to capitalize or underline book titles so the Prof gave me an 85. Now every assignment I have done ALSO gets an 85... Lauren keeps telling me "grad school isn't easy" but its children's lit. It should be easier! I just can't remember if I am coming or going. I made an A in my first grad school class and thought they would all be like that. AHHHH STRESS But I have learned my lesson- all grad school classes will from here on out be taken in the summer. I don't multi task well, especially pregnant. I am assuming that a newborn will do the same thing to my concentration. just a guess.
Also the glorious 12 weeks of UNPAID maternity leave still has to have lesson plans. I did meet my long term sub and I love her!!! She seems so nice and competent! Competent is not a strong suit of some people here... So I know I am leaving thins in good hands, but She still has to have lesson plans. I am almost done, but they aren't perfect. And other teachers like to "look" at my binders of lesson plans and copy them and then the "done" binders seem to have missing papers when I double check thorugh... grrrrr

Listen ... Megan is still thriving with ME as a mom so you've got NOTHING to worry about. I never even held a little baby until Megan. Heck, I wasn't even sure I liked babies! :-) Part of the Childcare class should touch on car seat safety so don't bother with a whole class! Enjoy your classes! And remember, if the baby comes early Jared has to take care of whatever isn't done because you'll be a little busy!
wow, you are good at continuing ed. for parenting! i'm impressed. and good thinking on retaking cpr, i still get nervous every time adelaide eats thinking about our failure.
you'll do great as a mom!
I can teach you the baby care in 20 minutes and come help after she gets here if you need! Call me, I am a proffesional. As for the come early stuff, well you saw how that worked for me. Pack your bag sister!
