I think it's a great idea! I have the big diaper bag for long trips (when we're out all day and need food, toys, extra clothes, etc.) but when it's just the two of us running a couple errands I use a big purse with diapers/wipes(www.diapeesandwipees.com) and a small toy can just hook onto the strap.
Hi Maddie...after having three babies, I felt compelled to answer the diaper bag question. Go to Nordstroms or somewhere equally yummy, get yourself a Petunia Picklebottem diaper bag that makes you happy (they're pricey but worth it) and then when she is about 9 or 10 months old, REWARD yourself for the last few crazy, sleep deprived months with a new big Coach. The reason i say that is because you will RUIN that purse if you use it as a diaper bag. There will be all kinds of crap in and on it....sometimes literally. I just bought a new Carley, and I love it. I have a 10 month old baby girl, and even when I just put a couple of things in my purse that are hers, it drives me crazy that I end up with crumbs and toys and crap in the bottem of my purse. You are going to want to have something that makes you feel like something besides a mommy all the time...save the Coach as a treat to help make that possible in a few months when you start to regain your sanity. Love and hugs to you! You're going to do great in labor and be an amazing mama! -g
They have really cute bags that they call laminated diaper bags and everything wipes right off. I made the mistake of not having something like this at first and I definitely threw away several bags!
