This is what Lauren and I call ourselves when we are feeling a bit chubby. Fatty Boom doesn't begin to describe what I feel or look like. I know "I just had a baby." But it was 2 months ago. I have been working out for about 3 weeks and eating what I feel like is nothing and as I went to check the mail yesterday I turned sideways to tell Molly to come in and as I turned back around... I glanced towards the front glass door and there I saw it... a image of me from November. 8 Months pregnant! I seriously look like it!
I don't want to hear or read "Oh Maddie, you look great." "Your dramatic" Its bull and I know it.
Don't believe me?
Ok Monday afternoon at my weight lifting class I am DYING next to a 60 year old woman. She looks at me and says "Class is really hard today!" I say "It certainly is!" She says "I bet its worse for you" I say "oh its not too bad" She says "I guess we are tired, especially you!"
Me:
Why especially me? Because I am fat and out of shape? Possibly. But I bet its because you think I am pregnant!!! Don't worry I am not. My kid is 2 months old. You would believe I am only 5 pounds away from my pre-pregnancy (yet still high) weight. You couldn't tell anyway because I am still in elastic pants!
But I just smiled and worked extra hard on abs. WHICH I feel like made my belly bigger!
Your probably thinking, "Is it that bad? I want to see a picture!"
Well my answer to you is FAT CHANGE IN HELL (punn intended) There will be no fat mommy pictures until I am able to fit into my purple jeans.
[purple jeans= the 7's with the purple rhinestone A's on the pockets that I HAD to have and they cost WAY to much but I got them Christmas 07 and they had to be returned for a smaller size- those days are long gone...]

I feel your pain! When my oldest was born, I didn't gain much weight but had this lingering pregnant belly look. I went Sonic to get a drink & the girl said, when is your baby due. I lied & made up something so I could hurry up & get away (I think I said next month! ha). I didn't want to explain that I wasn't really pregnant - I was just not going back together like I hoped. Here's the kicker - my newborn son was in the backseat! I just said she was young & it was a dumb question for a stranger, but it hurt like heck! I'm a little petite thing too, so the belly was so obvious! Shortly after that, a friend's son asked if I was going to have ANOTHER baby...ouch! Not to mention my hormones were raging something serious! My son just turned 6...it goes away!!
All this to say - I feel ya!!
Cute baby pics :)
Don't beat yourself up kids do a number on your body but they are worth it!!
I HATE that feeling! I refused to go anywhere without Casen for SO long so that everyone would see that I had just had a baby. I didn't want any " when are you due?" questions!
Well, everyone says it, but it's so true ... it took 9 months to put on the weight and grow that belly. It will take at least 9 months to lose it. I was back into my old clothes within a year. It can just take a while. Just know that you will be back in your old clothes before you know it! TRY to be easy on yourself. I know, easier said than done!
Hang in there Maddie. The only thing worse is to be 50+ years and have people wonder what your problem is. Please add a book shelf to Abbe's blog.
Cindy
I understand 100%. The girls are almost 6 months old and I STILL have 15 pounds to lose! Uggh!!! It's frustrating... I feel ya!
