3 Months

I love Hootie.
I have been a Hootie fan since they made it big with Cracked Rear View. The week Hadley was born I heard his new song "It won't be like this for Long"

He didn't have to wake up
He'd been up all nite
Lay'n there in bed listen'n
To his new born baby cry
He makes a pot of coffee
He splashes water on his face
His wife gives him a kiss
and saysIt gonna be OK

It wont be like this for long
One day soon we'll look back laugh'n
At the week we brought her home
This phase is gonna fly by
So baby just hold on
It won't be like this for long

Four years later bout four thirty
She's crawling in their bed
And when he drops her off at preschool
She's clinging to his leg
The teacher peels her off of him
He says what can I do
She says now don't you worry
This will only last a week or two

It wont be like this for long
One day soon we'll drop her off
And she wont even know you're gone
This phase is gonna fly by
If you can just hold on
It wont be like this for long

One day soon she'll be a teenager
And at times you'll think she hates him
Then he'll walk her down the aisle
And he'll raise her veil
But right now she up and cry'n
And the truth is that he don't mind
As he kisses her good night
And she says her prayers
He lays down there beside her
Till her eyes are finally closed
And just watch'n her it breaks his heart
Cause he already knows

It wont be like this for long
One day soon that little girl is gonna be
All grown up and gone
Yeah this phase is gonna fly by
He's try'n to hold on
It wont be like this for long
It wont be like this for long

I did not have a bad pregnancy. It just seemed like it lasted for 2 years! Labor wasn't what I expected either. After Lauren was in it for 24 hours I I thought it was going to be horrible! I also knew at some point I wanted an epidural, but not at the beginning. The statol drug they gave me first let me sleep for a few hours and the rest was a breeze! I thought I was coherent (minus the statol phase) but as I got out the video camera yesterday I saw Jared had the camera at the hospital. Before she was born, after and when we were leaving the hospital. I don't remember ANY of the camera stuff! And in 75% of the video's I am on my cell phone! So If I was talking to you, I have no idea what I said but if it needs an apology, I'm sorry. I know I was talking or texting with Abbe RIGHT before I started to push but I couldn't tell you what we talked about for a million dollars!

The first month was not what I expected. Once we got reflux medicine, our sanity moved away from the ledge. Still not a huge fan of sleeping, at least we weren't screaming bloody murder every 2 hours.

After 4 weeks, Hadley started to look at us and make eye contact, every now and then a little smile.

Not her happiest day, on her 8 week b-day she got her first two shots. She was mad at me all day. But by 2 months she will smile and smile and smile!

Now we are at 3 months. I can't believe how big she is! Aunt Tracey bought her a Juicy outfit in LA and I always looked at it and thought "She'll never be big enough to wear that!" Well, we wore it this week and it fits great. I KNOW she just gets bigger from here, but she is so snuggly and Coooo's so cute and doesn't really laugh out loud but makes a funny inhale noise when she smiles REALLY big, I like to pretend its an out loud laugh. She "talks" a little more every day and our sleeping is slowly progressing. We are trying to figure out routines and tricks so when I go back to work April 6 I am not trying to function on 4 hours of sleep.
