Talents (or lack there of)

I have never claimed to have many talents. But as I try new things, I discover that I don't have many... I am not being self deprecating, but honest. I don't like paying alot for hair bows so I decided to make some. I looked at this website http://www.girlythingsbows.com/ and got some great instructions and ideas!

Last week Hadley got this "fairy tale dress" and that website had a castle hair clip!

The bows turned out OK (presentable) so I decided that I REALLY wanted to learn to sew.

I tried to make Hadley a sticking for Christmas. I got the single sequin background stars (all 5 of them) on and then Aunt Jodie had to take over. Thank goodness she did, because it turned out great! I keep seeing all these cute A Line baby dresses and Onzies like Judie can make with Appliques sewn on and I want to do it!
Side story from the car ride to Sugars:
Hadley LOVES her car mirror. There isn't a middle headrest in the Tahoe so I have to turn around to see her reflection. She is now staring at the mirror with a mean face that looks like "Ok other baby, there isn't enough room here for two so you gotta leave"So After Abbe and I walked with the babies Gayle gave me a LONG sewing lessons. It went ok at her house. Then I brought the machine home and I have to re thread the needle every two and a half minutes and apparently is VERY DIFFICULT to sew a strait line and keep the foot pedal at the same speed to make the stitches even...

I complained to Lauren that "I can't sew" and her response "I know, I saw your attempt at the stocking Jodie had to fix." She said I had many other talents and I made her list them. They made me laugh so I am sharing :)

Top 10 things that qualify Maddie as talented:

1. You are hilarious

2. Your car dancing rivals Britney. (notice she said CAR dancing, not regular dancing)

3. You can keep 2 infants all day and still look cute and run errands.

4. You can talk even crazy me off the ledge.

5. You STILL have Forrest Gump memorized.

6. You can read and ENJOY really boring books.

7. You are a GREAT decorator.8. You are a Blog designer guru.

9. You are the world's WORST driver, yet you have never caused an accident.

10. You are HILARIOUS. I felt like this needed to be repeated, because you are that FUNNY!!! and I enjoyed being your womb-mate.

The bows are adorable!

I'm doing my best to learn to sew on my own... and although some projects seem to turn out okay... others have been ten shades of SCARY!

Thank goodness you have Gayle to guide you. Once I find a guide, I'll start whomping butt on the thing.

Keep up the good work!

p.s. You seriously are hilarious. The womb-mate is correct.

You are so funny Maddie! I think the bows look great! I will show you the applique stuff anytime you want, now or this summer. A friend taught me and after a few it is easy-peasy!!
