1974

In 1974 I was not born. My parents were not married, I don't even think they had met. But around the country many of my favorite things were being made. My house was built in 1974. It wasn't "mine" until 2.5 yrs ago when we got married, but I was with Jared when he moved in and watched him do most of the work on it. I know its small, but its our first house. I know someday we will have to move, but I'll be sad. Its inefficient, the plumbing has issues and my closet is tiny but other than that its perfect. Our room is HUGE, our dining room is beautiful, The kitchen is company friendly and we have a nursery, guestroom and office/guestroom with three bathrooms total! Jared has put beautiful hardwoods in the living, dining, master, hall and soon will install new carpet in the 3 bedrooms. He has redone the kitchen. It WAS fuchsia. I loved it, but he said it wasn't staying. The backyard and patio went from brown AstroTurf to an oasis that is our second living room. Its out house where we became a family.

Also in 1974 my favorite man was born. Jared was born in November and I am the luckiest girl in the world. I know he isn't perfect, but he is perfect for me. There are moments when I am driving thinking about him and want to call his mom to tell her thanks for raising such a wonderful man. I love him so much!

This is Jared's new project. a 1974 International Scout. It is not running, but hopefully by rebuilding the carburetor (??????????????????) it will run by Monday!
