Show us your dishes

Guest Post from Lauren:
I love it when Kelly's Korner does "Show us your life" posts, but I never participate. Until NOW!!! I have what my mom and I refer to as a "dish demon". It is pathetic. I LOVE DISHES!!! When Clint and I got married 4 years ago, picking out China with my mom was the highlight of wedding planning. We opted for 2 china patterns, instead of everyday and china. But because I am super fancy or entertain a lot. No, I just like what I like. I do enjoy a good cup and saucer.
This is my fancy china that is still in the boxes in the guest closet. I never do Thanksgiving at
my house and what else do you use it for? My Meghan has the same pattern. (Well close, mine is Ralph Lauren and hers is the real Waterford, but they are close!) So I can't loan them to her for her fancy parties or holiday dinners. Hmmm.... Maybe I need a to plan a dinner. Anyone want to come eat off brand new china?

So here is my "casual" China. Sounds ridiculous I know. But look at it! It is Spode Grove. They also make a Spode Grove Christmas which I LOVE too! This pattern was chosen because it looks so great with pink. And since our house is mostly pink, it looks great on the table! I have the most fantastic pink glasses, that hold very little liquid but sure are pretty, that match
perfectly!

So my next collection is a work in progress. I stumbled upon Juliska when I found the Grove. You see, Grove doesn't make a good cereal bowl. And let's face it. If I don't get my half lucky charms half fruity pebbles, it's going to be a LONG day. So Juliska makes great bowls. But I love them so much, I have started getting the matching plates:) And my fellow dish-o-holic Mom got the entire set in white. (She likes to play things safe when it comes to her color choices.) I however, must be true to my pink passion:).
So there it is. My China pattern(s). According to my friend Tina who keeps a copy of "Why Princess Margaret will Never Be a Kappa Kappa Gamma" in her desk, (no lie, it's there) says that according to that book, you can tell a lot about a girls china and silver pattern. (And for the record Ms. Tina- I have no clue what my silver pattern is. It's the same as my mom's and it's still in the closet with the china:))
