AHHHH Freak Out!

Well... today was quite interesting... Baby has been very still since Saturday. I figured that it was because I was so busy with the wedding that I didn't notice her. Sunday I still didn't feel movements like I was used to so I dragged Jared to Babies r us and got the heartbeat listener... BAD IDEA. So I couldn't hear the heartbeat and FREAKED OUT! Tears and panic were uncontrollable. Jared was very calm and just said the thing was cheap and we should try later. Monday at work a teacher (that I don't know) told a lunch story about a movie she watched with pregnant twins and one lost the baby and the dead baby was hunting the baby that lived... My friend Shannon finally said please stop, we don't want to hear this story... Today one of the teachers at I know semi-well and is always so nice in the hall starts to tell me how she felt "leaky" (i have peed my pants twice the last week) and didn't feel her baby move one day and went to the ER and had no amniotic fluid and had an emergency c-section and if she hadn't the baby might have not lived... SO I Freaked Out again! I called Jared and he called his Mom (a nurse) and she said for me to call my OB/GYN. I did and the nurse told me to drink a coke. I told her I had a cup of coffee, sprite and a big hunk of chocolate cake and still didn't feel anything! She said go tot eh ER right now. I don't do well with panic/ stress. I walked up to Clint (brother-in- law) and started balling! I told him what the Dr said and he said just to leave he'd take care of everything! He was very upset that I wouldn't let him drive me to the hospital, but I wanted to drive fast and call my Mom. He has been on the warpath trying to find these teachers who scared me too... BUT I walked into the hospital and Clint had already called Lauren who was there and they already had my info from the wreck and I went right in to the "Maddie Powell Suite" as Lauren calls it, since I go weekly haha. Jared was there within minutes, and Mom busted into my Dads office grabbed him hysterically from a meeting and they were there within 10 minutes also! The heart beat was "fine" but they wanted it to reach 15 something instead of 10 of something. They gave me a cold glass of Apple Juice and babies heart rate went way up! Surprisingly my Blood pressure was still "text book perfect" guess I better give up my hope for best rest... They made me feel better about freaking out and running from work to the ER and they said better safe than sorry and to come back anytime.

I would have driven as fast as possible if I were in your shoes, too!

Hang in there, sweets!!!!!

p.s. People seem to get the verbal sharts during school lunch. I haven't figured out why or how yet... but I did start eating lunch in my classroom as a result. My appetite and sanity stay intact.

*hugs*

I'm sorry it was stressful, and people say the stupidest things when you are pregnant. You totally did the right thing making sure you baby was okay. I hope everything continues to go well, and the baby is great.

I'm glad everything is OK!! Don't worry about freaking out. It is best to be reassured and DO NOT listen to everyone else's stories. And return that heartbeat monitor because it will just freak you out every time you can't hear it!!

I am so thankful to hear that everything is ok! I had a major freak out at 24 weeks - have you heard this story? I thought my water had broken. I went straight to the hospital. Turns out I just wet my pants!! Ha! :)
