We have been through this before, I am a democrat. I support some ideas of socialized health care but am truly on the fence. I am not ignorant to the habitually unemployed who "live off the system" that will benefit to this, but others I hear forget about the others (self employed, laid off, etc) who are legitimately in need of cheaper insurance. We pay a lot for our insurance and we pay a lot of money for our health care too. I acknowledge "you get what you pay for!" Meaning that the standard of care, quality and speed of medical care may suffer.
I am a teacher. I work hard and I am a "government employee." My insurance sucks. I pay an arm and a leg for crappy coverage. For example, Lauren and I had the same prescription to fill recently. With school insurance she owed $100 for the reminder what insurance didn't cover. Under Jared's insurance I paid $30. So, don't tell me I am a burden on society and a drain on our economy.
This was brought on by people using facebook as a political forum. Not the place people! Your PERSONAL blog is better suited for your PERSONAL opinions.
With that being said, I don't want to hear "the other side" or "your point of view"
This is not political discussion, just my opinion that maybe someone DOES have our best interest in mind, or at least tries to. That's what I want in a leader, someone who tries. Better to try and fail that sit on your rear and do nothing. I bet it it doesn't work, they'll try something else.
Did you see the Oprah about "Worlds Happiest People"? You tube it! The people from Denmark are remarkable and if I could convince my and Jared's families to move with us I would go!

Tell it SISTA!! I am 100% in agreement with at least they are doing something...because we pay a ridiculous amount to be covered under Cody's school insurance and still have way to high of a deductible and don't even get me started on what we paid to have the gals!!
Denmark would be cold. :)
I did see the Oprah and thought it was very interesting. I have been thinking about how clean their houses were ever sense.
I am on the fence on many political issues, so I can't contribute any wisdom. My main concern with the health care is debt. We will start paying for it for 4 years before any benefits are received. My second concern is for infertility which is not covered in any form in government health care. You cannot fathom how much infertility procedures and meds cost. Most insurances that cost an arm and a leg will help with at least small parts of it. Since the government views infertility as "elective" it will not cover any of it. In other states, currently, you can large parts of infertility paid for. I worry about families that would not be an option for.
But I do think something needs to be done and regulation needs to happen. EVERYONE should have the choice of insurance. EVERYONE.
